Based on sedimentological analysis, tephrochronology, morphometrical analysis using GIS, I reconstruct the fill terrace development in the upper river valley, and then evaluate crustal deformation and sediment budget in long-term. Key Words Geomorphology / Quaternary geoscience / Tephrochronology / Sedimentology / Fluvial hazards Research Activities Fluvial terraces in the upper reaches of rivers are often used as the basis for the evaluation of the crustal deformation over inland region in Japan, however their developments have been poorly understood. Therefore, I analyze the terrace gravel, tephra (volcanic products), river morphology, and reconstruct the fill terrace development considering the sediment transportation from the mountain slopes and tributaries to the trunk river in order to evaluate the uplifting rate of the inland regions accurately. I believe that my research is important for not only tectonic geomorphology but also understanding sediment routing systems of rivers. Selected Works Takahashi, T. and Sugai, T.
