We are researching catalysts to synthesize useful compounds from biomass and atmospheric CO2. Introduction to Research Development of catalysts for efficient synthesis of 1,3-butadiene, which has been produced from petroleum, from biomass-derived erythritol and hydrogen. Development of synthesis of organic carbonates and urea derivatives as raw materials for plastics and resins from CO2 using cerium oxide catalysts. Objective We will develop useful catalysts for the substitution of petroleum with biomass and CO2 as carbon sources for carbon neutrality and carbon recycling.
